Modern and flexible website
Learnmark Horsens has launched a new flexible Umbraco platform designed to guide and inspire young people in choosing their education.
Learnmark Horsens is one of Horsens’ largest educational institutions, offering 10th grade, youth programmes, and further education.
We are very happy with our new website. It reflects our visual identity, has many different and flexible content elements and works well on both PC and mobile.

Upgrade and design lift
Learnmark Horsens’ old solution was built on an outdated Umbraco 7 version that no longer met the institution’s needs for a modern and flexible website.
One of the main challenges was limited flexibility in content management, as editors were restricted by fixed page templates. In addition, the platform needed upgrading because Umbraco 7 stopped receiving support for bugs and security updates after September 2023.
This is our third website in Umbraco and we are very happy to be working in the system. It's highly user-friendly and offers many useful features.

Information architecture
In the design phase, we have focused on structuring the content in relation to the many different user groups. Organising the content on a website for an educational institution is generally an interesting task, as there are huge amounts of content in some areas or programmes and almost nothing in other areas, yet there is a political attitude that all programmes should be given equal priority on the website.
We have solved the task with a mega-menu that provides a quick overview of programmes and subject areas/universes.
Communication at eye level
The solution supports a desire to communicate visually through text, images and video. Users must be able to relate to everything they encounter on the website. Therefore, we have built eye-catching video and quote modules that can be used to convey the most important messages and good stories from the people who visit Learnmark Horsens on a daily basis.
Learnmark Horsens has dedicated resources to produce good image and video content. Therefore, the finished solution signals a high degree of peer-to-peer communication that makes users want to interact with the solution.
Integration with the HR system
In the solution, we have created an integration to PerSys. From here we extract employee data that is displayed in employee lists, contact boxes, etc.
Chat function
We have implemented Zendesk in the solution so that users can ask questions and get qualified advice via the chat function.
We’ve greatly benefited from working sessions with Illumi, where we discussed challenges together and found solutions that meet our requirements and are easy to manage in the backend.
