IT Integration

Successful IT integration requires experts with an overview

Standalone IT systems on their own don’t really contribute to your business growth.

Only when systems are well integrated and data flows freely between company silos do your employees experience real value that supports better decisions and more efficient workflows.

What is IT Integration?

System integration is critical to business

IT integration, also known as systems integration, is all about tying your various IT systems together to create a coherent digital infrastructure. In this way, you ensure interaction between different business areas and facilitate data sharing across them.

For the vast majority of companies and organisations, this means two things: Firstly, it streamlines work processes and secondly, it provides a much better basis for making business-critical decisions.

Benefits of IT Integration

How can your business benefit from IT integrations?

  • Data can be shared and used across systems and business areas.

  • Integrated systems can deliver real-time data to reports and dashboards.

  • No duplicate data, since information is stored in one system and shared with others.

  • Data is cleaner, and the risk of errors is reduced.

Just to name a few benefits.

IT integration projects are all about communication

A successful IT integration project is typically 10% technical and 90% communication. By its very nature, there are always multiple parties involved in an integration project - sometimes few and sometimes many. At its core, it's always about existing and new systems working together on a number of tasks. The challenge is that these systems often have different suppliers and users - both internal and external.

Unfortunately, when two parties have built their own halves, it doesn't automatically result in a single whole - there's "something" in the middle to make it work in practice. It is this magical part in the middle that is the key to successful integration projects.

The key is to ensure all parties see the integration project as a shared effort. At Illumi, we act as a mediator, making sure everyone achieves a good outcome from the project and that all agreements are properly aligned.

We take initiative and ask the right questions at the right time

When we take the driver's seat on an integration project, we have a strong will to ensure

  • all the necessary discussions are held

  • test environments are established

  • firewalls and proxy servers are factored into the equation

  • agreements and interfaces are maintained

  • everything ultimately gets delivered as intended.

Plus a number of other intermediate calculations.

The key is to start the right conversations – on the right topics and at the right time. This is a responsibility we naturally take on, because it’s ultimately what creates value for you as a customer.

There has been good co-operation between Illumi and our Navision supplier, which has been absolutely crucial to the success of the project.
