Unique system for reporting and extracting key data.
User-friendly, custom-built system for reporting and extracting key data.
The Danish Dairy Board is the trade organisation for Danish dairies. The association is also a knowledge organisation where professional expertise is the association's most important resource for creating development in the industry, advising members and fulfilling a mission to strengthen the development opportunities for the dairy industry in Denmark.
New reporting system for the Danish Dairy Board's members
In any company or organisation, it is necessary for the IT administrative systems to evolve as the business grows and new needs arise, and this was precisely the starting point for the Danish Dairy Board when we were given the task of creating a new reporting system for the Danish Dairy Board's members at the beginning of the year.
We already knew Illumi as a reliable supplier of solutions such as the school milk platform, where the webshop and customer journey are central. That made it an easy decision to include Illumi in the tender process. The development phase was efficient, precise, and delivered on time and within budget.
Jan Hermansen, Head of Department at the Danish Dairy Board
How many tonnes of cheese are produced in Denmark each year? And how much yoghurt does the average Dane consume?
The Danish Dairy Board, along with a number of other organisations, has an important task in collecting detailed data on milk production and consumption of a wide range of dairy products - from milk production on the farm and domestic consumption of dairy products to a detailed insight into the country's dairy exports.
The task we were presented with was to develop a user-friendly system that would give dairies a simple way to report the many types of data and make it available for national and international statistics.
Mejeristatistik.dk
Mejeristatistik.dk is a web-based, custom-built reporting solution and in our design, we have tried to recognise the busy everyday life in dairy production and create a tool that is intuitive to navigate and without unnecessary noise for users.
The solution is based on the Headless concept, which in simple terms is about separating the frontend and backend into two different applications that talk to each other via a data API.
The new reporting system has been well received by the dairies. We have been told that it is easy and intuitive.
Tina Andersen, Project Officer at the Danish Dairy Board
The dairies have access to report figures for dairy production, which they must do once a month.
In addition, as administrator of the solution, the Dairy Association has a number of extended options:
Create master data for new dairies
Configure the dairies' reporting forms
Monitor and follow up on reports
Create and configure product cards
Create and configure product categories/species
Extract reports for internal and external use
The Danish Dairy Board can customise each dairy's interface
We have developed a configuration engine where the Danish Dairy Board can customise each dairy's interface with the settings that are relevant to the dairy products it produces.
In addition to being a management tool for the Danish Dairy Board, the reported data is also used in the Dairy Documentation report, which Statistics Denmark produces every month. Some data is also included in important reports on Europe-wide milk production anchored at Eurostat.
From start to finish, working with Illumi and their team of talented people has been a positive experience. Every time I've had a correction or question, it has been taken care of immediately and the challenge has been solved effectively. There has been a great dialogue and follow-up throughout the process.
