Customised planning system
TrygFonden Kystlivredning is the name of the coastal lifeguard service that every year provides lifeguards and lifesaving equipment at beaches around Denmark, with the aim of improving safety at beaches and harbour bathing areas. Every year, around 200 lifeguards from TrygFonden Kystlivredning staff 36 beaches and harbour bathing areas. High demands are placed on the lifeguards, who are regularly trained and certified according to international standards.
TrygFonden Kystlivredning contacted us because they needed a flexible and manageable planning tool that could help create an overview of all the tasks involved in running the coastal lifeguard service.
A clear planning tool
In a great collaboration between Illumi, the Danish Swimming Federation and TrygFonden, we have built an administrative system that brings together many different workflows regarding planning, execution, certification and communication between the Danish Swimming Federation and the many lifeguards associated with the service.
The system is web-based and can be used when a lifeguard is on the job via mobile phone or tablet. In our design, we have tried to recognise the need for a quick overview and easy access to critical information. The solution is therefore very intuitive to navigate and without unnecessary noise for users.

The collaboration
The project has been deeply rooted in both the Danish Swimming Union and TrygFonden. We have experienced great co-operation with the project team consisting of relevant participants from both parties. Clear communication and clear agreements on responsibilities and decision-making competences between the various stakeholders have been key to the success of the collaboration.
As a supplier in a multi-party collaboration, it is always our ambition to ensure that, with the new digital solution, we meet a solid compromise between the different needs and wishes - naturally with the users in focus.
